UPDATE: News and analysis have been a mixed bag, but I think I'm finally getting a handle on what the regulations actually say, who they apply to, etc. Additionally, the Army [yes, it's just Army] seems to realize they've really screwed up on this. Not surprisingly, John Donovan has some clear-thinking analysis as he reports on this developing story.
That's what I think of the new military Internet/Blogging regulations.
Get this, though: as a DoD employee, I believe that I (technically speaking) fall under these regulations. And that, more than anything, should tell you how absurdly broad and restrictive they really are.
